We got a new projector to our cinema yesterday and i tried using this guide to generate a DCP file.

The server found it from my usbstick and loaded it fine, but it stopped when it got to playing it.

What could be wrong? What did i do wrong? Only thing that differed from your guide was me using dci resize on the TIFpictures.

Here is a link to my DCP(~300mb):

The audio error means that systems will either fail to playback at all or playback audio from front left only.

Also something might be amiss with your image sequence order. Or is it supposed to look like this?

No it should not. Most certainly not. :)

For testing i just took a movie from the phone, must be something avry with the sequence order. Will check and get back.

Also could this be the reason the server is failing, except the wrong image sequence?

The naming convention is a recommended practice, not a standard. Hence no crucial processing can depend on it. That said: If you push a package to some kind of distribution please make sure to adhere to the nomenclature. People in the booth expect those naming fields to be in place.

Your sequence order is no reason for failure either, of course.

I'm running across more and more "anamorphic" videos, where DAR and SAR are not the same, so I'm wondering if the command-line(s) at the start of this thread shouldn't also include the scale. So instead of
Code: [Select]
ffmpeg -y -i sample.mp4 -an -r 24 -vcodec tiff tiff/%06d.tiffit should instead read
Code: [Select]
ffmpeg -y -i sample.mp4 -an -r 24 -s 1920x1080 -vcodec tiff tiff/%06d.tiffwith the proviso that the first post makes clear that we are assuming an mp4 file named such-and-such, which is 1920x1080 resolution.

If one doesn't add that switch, you will get tiffs that are, for example, 1440x1080 and will then require further tinkering via imagemagick batch mogrify. Just a thought.

Also look at the setsar/setdar filters and the related notes in the ffmpeg-filters manpage.

Why would the pitch need to be adjusted? So long as the duration of your media stays the same, then the audio doesn't need to be changed. Whatever you do with the video is independent of the audio... unless you duration is being changed.

Is there a way to extract frames from two different files in the same ffmpeg procedure - say, a feature and a bonus content video - such that the numbering flows properly? I've tried batch renaming of files after the fact with both thunar and some Windows-based app, with horrible results... frames get renamed out of order regularly. Most likely, we'd be talking three files, with the third being the equivalent of a 5-second MOS in between. Thanks.

Hmm, why don't you extract each part separately, then concatenate by renumbering each part separately? But maybe I don't actually understand the problem you have.

I've had mixed success with batch renaming, so a little gunshy about it now. Anyhow, OpenShot has proven to be a savior in this regards. I can put whatever into a timeline and export to tiffs.
